busy @ 1:03 AM
been kinda busy lately.. having dance practices everyday after school for Project O's upcoming gig.. yay! i'm feeling super excited about it!! =D but at the same time, my body feels so drained.. both my knees are starting to hurt.. i tink i've overstrained them =\ but thanks to my beloved daddy & sweetie plankton that my knees arent totally spoilt due to excessive dancing.. daddy's been helping me rub my knees with ointment for the past few nights.. while pui's been lending me her knee guard for the past few days =) thanx daddy & pui!! really appreciate it!!
mmm.. last friday when i was on my way home after cellgroup.. alot of things came into my mind.. especially things regarding my dance life & project o..
well, i've actually loved dancing since i was in primary school.. at the age of 9 i think.. when i was still living at my old apartment house.. i was very close to 2 of my neighbour girls.. 1 was an italian girl by the name of
Silvia, and the other, a malay girl by the name of
Nurul.. so during our June & December holidays we'd always go over to one another's place, turn on the stereo and start choreographing & dancing.. i remembered that we started out dancing to the
Macarena.. ha! a classic! then, followed by
Backstreet Boys, 911, Five & Spice Girls.. lolx. yep! boy bands were the
IN thing those days.. and o how we loved Nick Carter!! hahaha~
so that basically started my love for dance.. and i'd jump into any chance of being able to perform in school.. ha. when i was primary 5, i formed a group to perform for Teacher's Day.. lolx. and we did
Spice Girls's "MaMa" (but we changed it mama part to teacher.. since it was for teacher's day) muahas! it felt so cool please =p then my next performance was when i was in Sec 1.. it was for like some Music Week thingy.. my group danced to
Nsync's "its gonna be me" ha. it was so fun! and we all wore those
super baggy jeans that were so
IN at that time.. ha. you know, the
JNCO, FUBU, Blind baggy jeans?? those that can stuff a few chickens inside.. hahaha. but i've never had a
REAL dance lesson before.. not until about a year ago.. at the start of 2005, i had my 1st dance lesson @
Studio Wu.. it wasnt as easy as i tot it would be.. haha. at that time, ger, pingping, andrew & hongquan went for lessons with me.. it was fun.. but we struggled quite abit.. then for
Emerge 2005, we decided to try out for Talent Time auditions.. so, ger, ping, andrew, darren & i came together and formed
Entheos (Greek for Enthusiastic)!!

haha. but we din make it thru the auditions round =( but still, we didnt give up on dancing.. we'd still meet up and go to Studio Wu for lessons whenever we had time.. which was very seldom.. so, not much space for improvements..
then, in 2006.. amanda wanted to form a group for
Emerge Talent Time 2006.. thus,
Ghetto Queens was born!! heh.

and this time round, we made it through the auditions! it was awesome!! and this marked the turning point in my life..
it was roughly about a month before Emerge.. my then CGL, sheevonne, asked me what ministry i wanted to serve in.. so i told her that i really want to serve God in the dance ministry.. but since i heard that the dance ministry wasnt gonna recruit anymore dancers, i sort of lost that hope.. and told her maybe i'll join the choir ministry..
but Lo, and behold.. after Emerge Talent time.. God opened up a door for us all.. Kenny had a vision from God to start & train up a group of dancers.. "
Project O".. so most of the talent time dance finalists went for the auditions.. and 12 of us made it! however, to be part of project o required alot of sacrifices..
we had to leave our cellgroups for 9months and come together to form another cellgroup,
DN1.. and we would have trainings 4 times a week! at 1st, we werent that close to one another.. but as time passed, the bond grew strong.. its great to be part of project o cuz we share the same passion & vision.. we're like an army of God.. standing strong together with kenny, ryan, daniel & carol.. walking towards that vision of being able to dance & impact the marketplace.. to be
Christ in Culture..
in a blink of an eye.. 3 months have passed.. we've spent hours upon hours of dancing.. so much so that sometimes, it totally drains us out and make some of us feel like giving up.. but thank God for His strength, anointing & encouragements that caused us to keep on keeping on..
2 Chronicles 16:9For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
God watches us constantly.. not because He wants to catch us when we mess up in life.. but to give an extra measure of strength to those who are being faithful.. He gives strength & support to those who are obedient.. to those whose hearts belong to Him..
God promises to see us and our efforts.. He will make us strong.. He will sense our fear and cast it out.. as for us, its our job to remain faithful..
Project o, lets keep on walking towards our dream and vision.. no matter how tough or tiring it may be at times.. lets not give up.. if God sees us to it.. He will definitely see us through it!! =D i believe that the upcoming 5-day gig will be a stepping stone for us all.. God has greater things in stored for us..
